ABOUT
WOJCIECH GRUDZINSKI is a choreographer and dancer. He graduated from the Roman Turczynowicz Ballet School in Warsaw and the faculty of contemporary dance at the CODARTS – Rotterdam Dance Academy in the Netherlands. Currently he is a participant of the DAS Graduate School - Academy of Theater and Dance at the University of Amsterdam.
He was awarded scholarships from the Ministry of Culture and National Heritage (2017, 2021), the Capital City of Warsaw (2021) and such Dutch programs as Schuurman Schimmel – van Outeren Stichting (2012/2013) and Stichting Bekker – La Bastide – Fonds (2013). In 2018, he won the competition for study visit in Movement Research at Judson Church in New York, organised in cooperation with GPS/Global Practice Sharing Program, Art Stations Foundation and the Institute of Music and Dance.
Throughout his education Grudziński participated in performances and workshops guided by a number of artists such as Amanda Piña, Nora Chipaumire, Daniela Bershan, Ivo Dimchev, Keith Hennessy, Itamar Serussi, Hans van Manen, Ed Wubbe and Jiříi Kylián. He has collaborated with Dries Verhoeven, Marta Ziółek, Ula Sickle, Aleksandra Borys, Magdalena Przybysz, Katarzyna Kalwat, Hana Umeda, Jens van Daele | Burning Bridges, CoisCéim Dance Company among others. He was involved in the Warsaw re-staging of Jérôme Bel’s Gala, which premiered in in Nowy Teatr as part of the Body/Mind Festival.
Grudziński pursues individual choreographic projects. In 2016-2017, he created two solo performances SLAVE4YOU and PAX. His next project POPULUXE, created in Art Station Foundation by Grażyna Kulczyk (as part of the Solo Project Plus 2018), was a variation about the luxury and googie architecture. The piece was selected to be presented at the Polish Dance Platform 2019 in Gdańsk. In the summer of 2019, Wojciech was a resident at Komuna// Warszawa, where he started to work on his first group piece inspired by Family Allotment Gardens landscape. RODOS premiered in Warsaw in September 2019 and is presented in the repertoire of the theater. The performance was included in the TOP10 THEATER 2019 category published by the Polityka magazine. Grudziński's latest work presented in 2021 is DANCE MOM created in collaboration with the choreographer's mother. The concept’s jumping off point is derived from the “next of kin” aspect and the mother-son relationship. This performance was coproduced by Teatr im. Stefana Żeromskiego and Nowy Teatr in Warsaw in association with the Art Stations Foundation by Grażyna Kulczyk.

Stypendysta Ministra Kultury i Dziedzictwa Narodowego (2017,2021), laureat stypendium artystycznego m.st. Warszawy (2021) oraz takich holenderskich programów, jak: Schuurman Schimmel-van Outeren Stichting (2012/2013), Stichting Bekker-laBastide-Fonds (2013). Nagrodzony w konkursie na wizytę studyjną w Movement Research at Judson Church w Nowym Jorku organizowanym we współpracy z GPS/Global Practice SharingProgram, Art Stations Foundation oraz Instytutem Muzyki i Tańca (2018).
Podczas swojej edukacji Grudziński brał udział w przedstawianiach i warsztatch prowadzonych przez wielu artystów i artystek takich jak m.in. Amanda Piña, Nora Chipaumire, Daniela Bershan, Ivo Dimchev, Keith Hennessy, Itamar Serussi, Hans van Manen, Ed Wubbe and Jiříi Kylián. Grudziński współpracował m.in. z Dries Verhoeven, Martą Ziółek, Ulą Sickle, Aleksandrą Borys, Magdaleną Przybysz, Katarzyną Kalwat, Haną Umedą, Jens van Daele | Burning Bridges i CoisCéim Dance Company. Był jednym z artystów biorących udział w warszawskiej wersji spektaklu Gala Jérôme’a Bela, którego premiera odbyła się w Nowym Teatrze w ramach Festiwalu Ciało/Umysł.
Grudziński realizuje własne projekty choreograficzne. W latach 2016-2017 przedstawił dwie prace solowe SLAVE4YOU i PAX. W 2018 roku był rezydentem w Art Stations Foundation by Grażyna Kulczyk (Solo Projekt Plus), realizując spektakl POPULUXE, którego przedmiotem były zagadnienia zawiązane z luksusem i architektura googie. Praca została wybrana do prezentacji w ramach głównego programu Polskiej Platformy Tańca 2019. We wrześniu 2019 roku odbyła się premiera pierwszej grupowej pracy Grudzińskiego. RODOS inspirowane przestrzenią Rodzinnych Ogrodów Działkowych powstało podczas rezydencji w Komunie Warszawa i jest prezentowane w repertuarze teatru. Spektakl znalazł się w rankingu TOP10 tygodnika „Polityka” w kategorii TEATR 2019. W 2021 roku Grudziński pracował nad nowym spektaklem, realizowanym wewspółpracy z Ewą Grudzińską - matką choreografa. Punktem wyjścia koncepcji było zjawisko najbliższego pokrewieństwa, relacja matki i syna. Spektakl DANCE MOM jest koprodukcją Teatru im. Stefana Żeromskiego w Kielcach oraz Nowego Teatru w Warsawie we współpracy z Art Stations Foundation by Grażyna Kulczyk.
